Night School Legacy Cimmeria Academy YA thrillers Book 2 eBook CJ Daugherty Reviews
Allie is now training with the other Night School members and is being trained by one of her close friends Dad, named Raj who has a special security company. There has been terrible events happening at the school that has claimed the lives of one the girls in Allie's circle of friends. There is a group of individuals who want to take over the School along with other organizations tied to it.
This book was a huge disappointment compared to the first one. Usually the lead starts out weak then grows stronger as the story progresses but it seems like Allie's character is going backwards. In the first book, she was strong and composed and I loved her character. In the second book she's a whiney mess and what annoyed me the most was when she talked she used the word like for every other word. I hate that. I doubt I'll finish the series because based on the reviews I've read it sounds like her character gets worse.
Ok, I read this one straight through on Super Bowl Sunday, only glancing up to look at the commercials. This book is that good.
After a harrowing summer at school, the mysteries and danger deepen, and it seems Allie is in the eye of the storm. Another death and fire prove that the forces that want to tear apart the school are serious, and it seems that Allie's long lost brother could even be involved. After discovering that she does have Legacy - family ties to the institute - and quite impressive ones, Allie will not stop her investigations until she and her friends are safe. But she is also torn - who can she trust, and who is the traitor in their midst?
Wonderful series, and I still have no idea where it's going!
Let me just say first of all that I absolutely adored the first book in this series and this one was even better. This book just like the first will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is most definitely a page turner.
Legacy is filled with drama, suspense, intrigue, stolen kisses, and heartache.
In this book everything changes for Allie. She is accepted into Night School and she makes some new friends ... in this book we meet Zoe and Nicole. She finds out a little more about what's going on within the Academy. Allie discovers that Nathaniel, who was behind the events at the summer ball has an inside person spying on them within the Academy.
In this book everybody lies ... Sylvain, Carter, Allie, Jo! They all are keeping secrets. Lies are running rampant in the Academy and everyone is suspicious of everyone else, especially with a spy on the grounds. .
Which is why when she receives a letter from her brother requesting a meeting she tells Sylvain and not Carter because she doesn't trust him to do what she asks. Once Carter discovers that Allie has been keeping things from him he explodes and calls it off. Allie discovers she still has feelings for Sylvain and that he has changed. He has saved her life twice, he's caring, loyal, thoughtful, and he has become a better person.
And let me say while I was totally Team Carter in the first book ... while I still absolutely love Carter, for Allie I am switching teams ... Team Sylvain!!!
‘It means that I want to be with you. That I can’t get you out of my head .’
So with all the lies coming to light who do you trust ?!?! Who is the inside man ?!?!
‘Keep breathing'
I was really debating giving this book 2 or 3 stars. There were some things I liked about it. The few new characters, great just what the story needed in my opinion. More info about her family- wonderful. You kind of learn a little more about the war that is going on. She gets stronger but at the same time she kind of lets her family name, now that she knows who that is, go to her head and gets bratty like all the other kids at the school, I didn't like that. I even felt okay when that student died (not going to say which one but I did feel it was necessary to drive the series and I didn't particularly care for them this book.) What I didn't like was Carter being possessive and telling her how to live her life, as soon as he did it, I was like DUMP HIS ASS because I feel like no one should EVER tell you how to live your life. For me, it came on to strong, to fast and kind of out of nowhere. Looking back there kind of were signs in the first book that he was over protective but since the 2nd one is long, the author should have spread it out. And her thinking about getting back with Sylvan, I was like ' he tried to force himself on you, what the heck are you thinking, I don't care if he did change!' What I want in the next book is for a new love interest to be introduced because I don't think she should end up with either. I will give the 3rd one a chance, but that's it, if its not great... I'm done.
